Improving Confidence Through Positive Action!

Improving confidence is best when it’s linked with some action that helps improve not just self-confidence but also self-image and self-esteem.

Here’s a classic example from Dr. Milton Erickson, one of the greatest hypnotists to ever live.

Someone asked Dr. Erickson to visit their aunt who was depressed, down in the dumps, and wanted to die.

Some people would have tried to get her to feel good about the fact that nobody liked her or came around to see her.

Some people would have CURSED her by getting her to feel good about her situation.

Instead, Erickson noticed the lady had African Violets in her house.

He talked to her about violets and told her to get some starter pots and make new violets by taking clippings and starting them in the new pots.

Then he told her to read the newspaper, and every time there was a wedding, graduation, birth, death, or any other type of significant event to take one of those new violets and send it to the person or their family.

Soon the lady had more friends than she knew what to do with.  She felt more confidence, had a better self-image, and improved self-esteem just because of a simple set of actions she took.

List 2 or 3 actions you could take that would help you to feel more confident and more in control of your life.

If you can’t think of any, imagine you’re talking to a friend and that friend is exactly like you in every way.  Tell that other friend you 2 or 3 things to do in order to feel more confidence.

Or you could do the energy blow out using my friend Dr. La Tourrette’s “Easy energy method” to blow out the unwanted emotions along with “Even though I don’t have any confidence, I choose to identify and act on something I can start to do right now that gives m more confidence and control over my life.

Have fun!  I will see you again in the next article!

Sincerely,
